Richard Maxted - Hunslet Quarry Class Locos (KngTrains)

This is an expansion pack for Kevin Martin's (KngTrains) Britomart Hunslet Locomotive Model as included in the KngTrains Ffestiniog Railway Stock Pack. This expansion includes 3 Quarry Hunslet Locomotives: Lady Marion, Victor & Whernside.

 

The pack also includes a sound mod for the locomotives recreating a more accurate sound set for these rather small and quirky locomotives. All the locos have a handbrake fitted which winds on and off ( it can be used to brake the loco ) using the [ and ]  keys. You will start with the brake on and you can here it coming off by the grinding noise.  On the locos the handbrake animation works in the cab.

The locomotives are also fitted with a four stage reverser set at 0 (nutural), 13% (1/4 on), 40% (half on), 60% ( 3/4 on ) and 100% (Full).  The reverser only stops at these settings which is an attempt to make a more realistic operation.  You now need to plan ahead and use the regulator carefully. 

 

All the locos have working sanders that do make a real difference to their inclination to wheelspin under load. Press X and see how to get the full effect and X to turn them off.  There is a knack to this as the sander controls are delibrately tempremental.

 

Using the blower will change the colour of the smoke, as will the firebox and adding coal.

 

Using the injectors will cause steam to issue from the drain pipes - in Whernside there is a constant leak !

Once underway closing the regulator will cut off the "chuff" smoke.  The smoke uses a different set of shaders so looks a little more solid.
